The games graphics have been improved, and there is a greater roster of players to choose from. The most noteworthy addition is that of female players, such as Monica Seles and Venus and Serena Williams. You cannot however play as a male against a female.



The gameplay is a lot faster than the original. The players you control move a lot faster, as do the AI computer players. Less diving, but more getting at shots that go behind you and over the shoulder shots.



The game modes from the original are the same, featuring tournament mode, where you play against the pros; exhibition mode for a one-on-one, best-out-of-three game; and world tour mode which now features the option of creating and customizing your own player. Build you player up, buy equipment and hire pros to play in doubles matches with you.

Hot Shots Golf Fore! (HSG4) continues the cute-golf style of Hot Shots Golf 3 with a new major addition - online play. You can take your golf game online and challenge other golfers in stroke play or match play games to see who the best video golfer in the world is.



You can play through tournaments on one of 12 different golf courses, each with varied layouts, weather, and hazards. There is also a par-3 short course, and two mini-golf courses where your goal is to score points by sinking long putts within two strokes.

You can also purchase new costumes, caddies, clubs, and balls at the golf shop by earning points during tournaments and Vs. play. Hot Shots Tennis (Everybody's Tennis in Europe) is a simulation of the tennis sport. It is very arcade oriented which means the player only needs to the correct position to the ball and a good timing. The player also can choose between different shot variants by pressing the assigned buttons. There are three playing modes: trainings, exhibition matches and challenge mode. The latter consists of a series of matches against the AI. After a few victories the player improves his abilities and can play in a better league with stronger opponents. It also unlocks new characters, referees and stadiums with different advantages and disadvantages.



In multiplayer and free matches the player can vary various settings, including the basic rules, and use his unlocked rewards. There are also fun options, e.g. unrealistic physics and slow motion mode.
