Gran Turismo 2 gives you a greater variety of racing than ever before. Speed across both dirt and road tracks as you test drive and race over four hundred of the hottest cars on the Earth; from the HP hungry GT makes to rally editions and high-performance picks of the general road.

Polyphony Digital's Gran Turismo 2 offers a selection of over 400 new and secondhand vehicles from a total of 33 manufacturers. American and European manufacturers have been included along with those hailing from Japan. Some of those featured are Toyota, Mazda, Nissan, Mercedes-Benz, Ford, Chevrolet, Aston Marten, and Alfa Romeo. Gran Turismo also features rally cars, high power special models, street sport cars, and more.

Gran Turismo 2 includes 21 road tracks ranging from city tracks in Rome and Seattle to the more official raceways of proper GT competition. Six brand new rally courses are also offered, but only the best handling vehicles will be able to conquer these courses.
Gran Turismo 2 is split into two discs. One offers the arcade-style of GT racing while the second offers the world famous simulation GT mode, which starts players off with 10,000 credits. As the game progresses you must purchase a car and gain the licenses required to enter each separate event and race.

The game is split into Gran Turismo League, Special Event, Dirt Event, and Endurance races. Other features include detailed replays, Time Attack and 2-Player Battles in arcade mode, Machine Tests for testing the performance of your cars, and, all the adjustable car settings and upgrades to finely tune your vehicle.

This time with an even more realistic driving experience. Lighting now has an effect on the game, such as buildings blocking the sunlight. There are now smoke effects caused by skidding. Now there is even heat rising from the road.

Gran Turismo is a racing simulator for the Playstation like no other. People either love it for the tuning options, the hundreds of cars available to choose from and the general "feeling" of the races, or hate it for the same reason (the hard sim controls). Gran Turismo is back and there is a huge variety of cars, including the Model T Ford, Jay Leno's Tank Car, and some of the famous Le Mans cars from down the years. GT4 has brand new tracks, including the famous Nürburgring, and tracks set in famous locations such as Paris, the Grand Canyon, and many more. There is a new Photo mode in GT4 where you can take photographs of a saved replays or in photo mode, and save them to your memory card, or a USB storage device. There is also a new B-Spec mode where become race manager, in other words you let the computer do the work, so it's useful if your doing a endurance race.
